AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco is an American professional soccer player who is an attacker and captain for San Diego Wave FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL), the highest division of women's professional soccer in the United States, and the United States women's national soccer team.She co-captained the United States women's national soccer team along with Carli Lloyd and Megan rapinoe from 2018 until 2020. [8][9] Morgan was drafted as the number one player in the Western New York Flash's 2011 WPS Draft shortly after she had graduated from the University of California, Berkeley. Morgan played for the California Golden Bears. Morgan made her professional debut at the time and played a major role in helping the team win the league title. Morgan was only 22 at the time and the youngest member of the national team in the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011. The team finished second. In the 123rd minutes of the semi-final match against Canada in the 2012 London Olympics she scored the game-winning goal. She ended 2012 with 21 and 28 goals. assists along with Mia Hamm as the only American woman who scored 20 goals and give 20 assists during the same year, making her the sixth and youngest U.S. player to score 20 goals in one season. The following year, she was awarded the U.S. Soccer Female Athlete Of The Year and was a FIFA World Player of the Year finalist. Morgan helped the United States win the title at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups. She was selected to the Dream Team in both tournaments. In 2019, Morgan won the Silver Boot.
